Edinburgh Castle is perched on one of the city's seven hills, overlooking most of the downtown of the city. It sits at the upper end of the Royal Mile, which runs through Old Town, and looks down upon Princes Street, New Town. St. Margaret's Chapel is the oldest of the castle buildings, built in the 12th century.
